UK DRI Head of HR
Roles & Responsibilities: recruitment and selection, onboarding and induction, training and development, employee engagement and employee relations
Laura joined the UK DRI as Head of HR in June 2019 following two and a half years at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre at UCL, a newly-established neuroscience research centre. While at the SWC, Laura led the HR team with responsibility for all staffing-related matters, as well overseeing the recruitment, onboarding and progression of the student cohort of the SWC PhD programme. Prior to this, Laura led the team responsible for the delivery of all recruitment and payroll-related HR administration activities at the School of Oriental and African Studies.
Laura has an undergraduate degree in English Literature from Goldsmiths, an Advanced Certificate in HR Management specialising in employment law and recruitment and retention and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Laura’s interests include reading, baking, amassing cat-themed items and claiming not to watch reality TV while maintaining an unhealthy commitment to RuPaul’s Drag Race and MasterChef.
