UK DRI Director of Innovation & Business
Roles & Responsibilities: Kay is responsible for the UK DRI’s innovation and commercialisation activities, ensuring the great discoveries made by UK DRI researchers move from bench to bedside. She is the UK DRI’s interface with external investors and partners, and supports UK DRI researchers through the translation process.
Kay joined the UK DRI as Director of Innovation & Business in November 2019, following two years at BTG plc in Business Development and Strategy. In that role, Kay scouted for and evaluated new medicines, technology and devices; executing both licensing and acquisition deals. Prior to that, Kay worked in Imperial’s Enterprise division and started her career with GSK’s Future Leaders scheme.
Kay holds a Masters in Biochemistry from Oxford University, and a PhD in Cancer Biology from UCL. She is a Chartered Management Accountant, and RTTP (Registered Technology Transfer Professional) accredited.
An enthusiastic, if mediocre, road cyclist, Kay enjoys cycling up hills and entering long distance sportives. She is also often to be found at the Royal Opera House or at one of London’s theatres.
