Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Statement

At the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI), we believe that excellence in research is inseparable from equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Transformative discoveries in dementia research are only possible when people with diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds come together.

We are committed to fostering a collaborative, team-based environment where researchers are equipped with the resources and support they need to push the boundaries of science.

Our goal is to grow as a global, inclusive dementia research institute that promotes innovative thinking and ensures that diversity drives progress toward better research outcomes.

As part of this commitment, we are prioritising the collection and use of data on key diversity characteristics to inform and embed inclusive principles across all aspects of the UK DRI. These efforts mark the beginning of a long-term journey to build a culture of inclusion and belonging that empowers all individuals to thrive.

This is not a one-time initiative but an ongoing process of reflection, learning, and improvement. By continuously evaluating our practices and using data-driven approaches, we aim to create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we will ensure that every voice at the UK DRI contributes to advancing the understanding and treatment of dementia for the benefit of all.
