Julian’s research focuses on dementia, occupational performance, and technology-enabled care. He is particularly interested in how smart home and in-home sensing technologies can be used to capture meaningful information about day-to-day function in real-world settings and generate insights that support clinical decision-making.
At the UK DRI, his work centres on developing approaches that can improve personalised assessment and care planning for people living with dementia at home. His broader aim is to support earlier identification of changing needs, enable more responsive and person-centred care, and help people live safely and independently at home for longer.
