Roles and Responsibilities: supporting strategic initiatives across the UK DRI
Katie joined the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) in November 2024 having previously worked for the Medical Research Council (MRC). At the MRC, Katie supported the development and delivery of strategic projects funded by the UK Research and Innovation Infrastructure Fund.
Katie completed a PhD at University College London (UCL), investigating ion channels in retinal disease. Her interest in ion channels led her to a postdoctoral research position at the UCL Ear Institute, and she subsequently secured an independent fellowship to investigate neuro-glial interactions during development and ageing in the auditory system.
