Biography
Roles and responsibilities: drafting, amending, and negotiation of contractual documents; advising researchers and internal stakeholders on contractual terms, risk, compliance, and institutional policies. As part of the Business and Innovation Team, Sophie supports partnerships with universities, industry partners, and funders; identifying and managing legal and commercial risks associated with projects and assisting with IP matters.
Sophie joined UKDRI in March 2026. She previously worked at Imperial College London, first as a Contracts Manager within the Faculty of Engineering, where she supported departments in negotiating research contracts, and later in the commercialisation office, advising on intellectual property matters and supporting licensing and other commercial agreements. Sophie holds a Law degree from the University of Montpellier and later specialised in Intellectual Property Law at the CEIPI in Strasbourg.
