CURE-ND workshop for Early Career Researchers

The CURE-ND (Catalysing a United Response in Europe to Neurodegenerative Diseases) workshop for early career researchers (ECRs) is the first event of its kind being organised by the joint ECR committee of the alliance institute members: German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (Germany), Paris Brain Institute (France), Mission Lucidity (ML, a partnership between imec, KU Leuven, UZ Leuven and VIB in Belgium), and the UK Dementia Research Institute (United Kingdom).

The event takes place over 3 days, 25-27 May 2022, in the heart of London's Camden Town.

Cure Nd Orgs

Delegates

This workshop is open to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, including clinical fellows, from the CURE-ND network.

Each member institution will send up to 20 delegates, for a total of 80 conference attendees.

Attendance will be first come first serve, please apply early to avoid dissapointment.

Registration deadline (extended):

Delegates will be notified on/before Wednesday 4 May 2022.

Travel & Accommodation

The meeting is completely free to attend.

Accommodation (2 nights hotel stay) will be covered for those travelling from outside of London.

Travel to/from the meeting is the responsibility of the delegate.

Talks & Posters

All in-person meeting attendees will be expected to either give a talk or present a poster at the meeting.

ECR speakers will be chosen from applicants by the joint CURE-ND ECR committee to ensure diversity of research topics, gender, and equal contribution of all institutions.

Talks are 10 minutes + 5 minute discussion.

  • Covid-Safe measures for in-person meetings

    All restrictions in England have been lifted, however for the safety, comfort, and reassurance of all our delegates, we have set out the following Covid-Safe measures.

    • We strongly advise all delegates to take, at minimum, a lateral flow test (LFT) prior toarrival (tests must be taken the morning that you intend to arrive). Please do not attend the meeting if you test positive or feel unwell. If you develop symptoms when on-site, please return home immediately. Please contact the meeting organisers if you need support with this.
    • We strongly encourage delegates to wear face coverings in indoor communal spaces (unless exempt). Face masks will be provided on site.
    • We will provide ‘Please give me space’ stickers. Please be respectful of people’s personal space, especially if they are wearing a ‘Please give me space’ sticker.

    The meeting venue will:

    • Have hand sanitisers around the venue, and all touch points are regularly cleaned by the housekeeping team.
    • Be well ventilated, either by air renewal monitoring and/or opening doors/windows permanently.
    • Be cleaned and disinfected prior to the event.

Virtual Viewing

Talks will be broadcast virtually via zoom.

We cannot, however, accept any talks virtually in this instance. Other sessions such as the poster session and group activity will also be unavailable virtually.
