Professor Nick Fox to lead the UK DRI at UCL for 2018

We are delighted to announce that Professor Nick Fox, a group leader at the UK DRI at UCL, has generously agreed to step up as interim Associate Director of the UK DRI at UCL.

The UK DRI has five centres, at Cardiff, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Imperial and King’s, each headed by an Associate Director who provides local leadership and vision. We are pleased that Professor Nick Fox will provide that same guidance to the UK DRI at UCL hub, effective immediately.

Nick is ideally suited to this role. He played an important part in the UCL bid to host the UK DRI hub, is highly respected by his many UCL colleagues, is an internationally recognised neurologist and neuroscientist, and is committed to helping those with and at risk of dementia.

Associate Directors are based across the institute

We are looking forward to having Nick even more involved in the UK DRI. We’re very grateful that he will help shape a stimulating and productive environment and will represent his UCL DRI colleagues at the national UK DRI level.
Bart De Strooper & Adrian Ivinson

This development enables our UK DRI leadership team Bart De Strooper and Adrian Ivinson to devote more of their time to establishing national UK DRI research and operations across all six partner universities.

This role links well with Nick’s continued leadership as Co-Head of the Department of Neurodegeneration and Director of the Dementia Research Centre at the UCL Institute of Neurology, Queen Square.

The UK DRI is an exciting and important national programme. I’m more than happy to step in whilst a permanent Associate Director at UCL is identified and look forward to working with the UK DRI leadership team.
