Registration and abstract submission are now open for British Neuroscience Association’s (BNA) Festival of Neuroscience (BNA2021), taking place virtually from 12-15 April 2021. The UK DRI is delighted to join forces with BNA as Festival Partner – presenting the perfect opportunity to bring together the wider dementia research and neuroscience communities.
Released earlier this month, a fantastic scientific programme has been organised with plenary lectures from world-leading neuroscientists including Prof Fred Gage and recent Brain Prize winner, Prof Huda Zoghbi. Director Prof Bart De Strooper will be delivering a talk for UK DRI and we are thrilled that Group Leader, Prof Sarah Tabrizi has been selected to give a lecture for the Association of British Neurologists.
This year, UK DRI has put together four symposia under the scientific stream of ‘Ageing and dementia’. We are looking forward to excellent presentations on the topics of sleep and circadian rhythms, non-neuronal cells, dementia in sports and brain resilience to pathology. In addition, several UK DRI researchers are contributing to a workshop on multi-omics analysis of the brain at single cell resolution.
The Festival is unique in bringing together a number of partner societies, including UK DRI, to shape the scientific programme. In addition to the plenaries and symposia, there will be interactive poster presentations, workshops, and networking and career opportunities over the four days. Attendees also have the opportunity to submit a scientific abstract for the Festival, either in traditional format or as a preregistration submission – allowing for plans to be discussed and valuable feedback gained before a project is undertaken.
Taking place virtually, the event will be more accessible than ever before with significantly reduced registration fees, the absence of travel costs and extended access to recorded content after the conference. Discounts are also available for early-bird registration, members, groups, and attendees living in Low and Middle-Income countries (LMIC). As Festival Partner, UK DRI’s researchers receive significant savings (please see further information on the UK DRI Portal).
We look forward to seeing many of you there in April 2021!
