UK DRI proud to be part of the Alzheimer's Association International Conference

Dri Stand 3

In July 2017, over 5000 dementia researchers and experts from around the world gathered in London with a united mission: to tackle Alzheimer's disease.

Known as the ‘Alzheimer’s Association International Conference’ or AAIC, this annual meeting is a unique gathering of people to discuss the latest progress in the field. The UK DRI had presence across the conference to help share the opportunities our new institute has and what we are bringing to the field.

Our stand in the exhibition hall allowed us to meet many delegates and tell them about the new institute, our vision and our recruitment opportunities. Thank you to everyone who came to speak to us to find out more. Also thanks to those of you who got involved with our game to build a model brain against the clock. Congratulations to our three daily winners!

Our evening reception was the perfect opportunity to celebrate our progress in establishing the institute across our six centres, and also talk to many people interested in joining us or collaborating with us in the future. The event was full of energy and stimulating conversation.

We were also proud to see UK DRI Associate Directors and UK DRI Fellows presenting their research throughout the week, demonstrating the breadth of approaches the UK DRI is taking to better understand dementias.

A snapshot of photographs here sum up the busy week, but please visit us on Twitter to see more of the activities we were involved in.

We hope to see you again in Chicago next year!
