Biography

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the Centre.
  • Financial management and oversight of Centre budgets and grants.
  • Supporting the Centre Director (Prof Karen Duff) with implementation and delivery of the Centre’s strategic objectives and policies.
  • Assisting researchers with preparation of costings and submissions for research grant applications.
  • Managing all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding of new staff and contract changes/extensions for existing staff.
  • Organising seminars, meetings, and other Centre events
  • Liaising with the relevant UCL professional services teams within the Faculty of Brain Sciences e.g. Research and Innovation Services, Finance and Contracts Team.

Charlotte joined the UK DRI at UCL in 2024 with over 12 years of experience in research funding and administration in Higher Education. Before that, she was the Research Funding Manager (Post-Award) at St George’s University of London, managing the finances and reporting on all research grants at the University. Prior to that Charlotte worked in various Research Operations, Research Finance and Group Administration roles at Imperial College London for over 10 years. 

She enjoys supporting the full life-cycle of a research grant from preparing the initial grant costing through to the final financial report and likes the challenge of solving any issues that pop up along the way.
