UK DRI Senior Awards Officer
Roles & Responsibilities: leading the internal awards programme for the UK DRI e.g. pilot projects, cross-centre post-docs
Heather joined the UK DRI in September 2021, having held previous positions as a Grants Adviser and Expert Review Group Manager in the Neuroscience and Mental Health team at the Wellcome Trust. In these roles, she supported the management of Wellcome’s funding schemes and worked with the research community providing advice and guidance on funding applications and opportunities. Prior to these roles Heather completed her PhD investigating the neuropharmacology of NMDA receptors at Durham University.
In her role as Senior Awards Officer, Heather supports the management of the UK DRI’s internal awards schemes, is the point of contact for researcher enquiries and provides advice on internal and external funding opportunities.
Heather loves family picnics and being out in the countryside. She also has too many houseplants!
