Biography

Roles and responsibilities: engaging key decision makers and UK Government on public policy; devising and overseeing a public affairs strategy to foster support for the Institute, and its mission; engaging political stakeholders and championing innovation within our community, building cross-sector relationships, and running communications campaigns for a variety of audiences.

Katherine worked in parliament for a decade as Chief of Staff to influential backbench MPs and Government Ministers. Upon leaving parliament in 2023, she worked for General Medical Council, and the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry in strategic engagement and government affairs roles. Katherine has also worked in the NHS, and as a community outreach councillor.

Katherine has an undergraduate degree in Education and Applied Theatre from The University of London, and a Diploma in Professional Counselling. Katherine has been researching techniques in neuroscience, and evolutionary psychology since 2021, and her postgraduate interest in psychology and neuroscience has stemmed from her commitment to brain health.

Katherine hopes the UK can become a thriving environment for medicine discovery, to ensure patient-led innovation drives the future of UK life sciences, and her long-term goal is to finish her Psychologist training.
