Biography
Roles & Responsibilities: Facilitating knowledge sharing between UK DRI researchers at all levels, driving events and initiatives, engaging with external stakeholders.
Sarmi joined the UK DRI in February 2020. Prior to her role at the UK DRI, she worked for over two and a half years at Eli Lilly UK, where she managed early phase drug discovery projects within the Translational Neuroscience and Pain Discovery group.
Sarmi completed her BSc in Biochemistry and MSc in Neuroscience, both at King’s College London, following which she undertook her PhD at the University of Southampton (2013-2017) studying cognitive and synaptic dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease. In her current role as Research Themes Project Manager Sarmi engages with researchers sharing similar areas of research interest, referred to as Research Themes, to facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration through the sharing of knowledge, ideas, resources, best practice, and data.
