Biography
Roles and responsibilities: Administration of the UK DRI office, event planning and providing operational support to the core team.
Sashika joined the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) in March 2023. Before this she spent two years at the Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis Tissue Bank at Imperial College London, where she worked as an administrator. In this role, she managed tissue donations across the UK, oversaw database management, and assisted with tissue dissection. Prior to this, Sashika spent over seven years as a Tissue Bank Coordinator at the London Neurodegenerative Diseases Brain Bank at King’s College London, where she fulfilled tissue requests, organised public engagement events, and handled tissue retrieval and administration.
Sashika holds a BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester. In 2019, she published her first paper in the Journal of Neural Transmission, focusing on the comparison of clinical and neuropathological diagnoses of neurodegenerative diseases. She continues to be dedicated in advancing research in neurodegeneration and contributing to scientific understanding in the field.
