Involving people with lived experience of dementia and associated neurodegenerative conditions is critical to the work of the UK DRI, especially at the Centre for Care Research & Technology.
The Friends of CR&T network invites anyone who has been affected by dementia to get involved in research at the Centre. The network promotes strong partnerships between researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience, creating a community where all can learn from one another.
Why become a Friend of CR&T?
Becoming a Friend of CR&T is an opportunity to share the future of dementia research, as well as becoming part of a community of people with similar lived experience. You can get involved in research on your own terms, as and when you want to, and work alongside doctors, scientists and engineers, learning more about dementia care research.
What might involvement look like?
You can choose the topics and activities best suited and most interesting to you. These might be, for example:
- Identifying and prioritising research needs
- Advising research project plans
- Shaping communication materials
- Testing prototypes in workshops
- Helping understand research findings
- Sharing research with wider communities
