The Proteomics platform offers a full service in mass spectrometry with experiments designed with UK DRI researchers to suit the research question.
They routinely carry out the following:
- Sample preparation: S-trap digestion, SP3 workflows, TMT labelling, Phosphopeptide enrichment, various sample cleanup methods
- Mass spec techniques: Data independent analysis (DIA), Data dependent analysis (DDA), Targeted methods (MRM/PRM), Intact protein (Top down), MALDI-TOF
Across the Platform and Fingerprints Lab, there is access to the following instrumentation:
Proteomics Platform:
- Thermo Fusion Lumos
- Thermo Exploris 480
- Thermo Exploris 240
- Thermo Q-Exactive+
- Bruker RapiFlex MALDI-ToF-ToF
Bruker TimsTOF Pro 2
Fingerprints Lab:
- 2x Thermo Fusion
- Thermo Exploris 480
- Thermo Eclipse
- 7x Thermo Q-Exactive+
- Thermo QE-HF
- Thermo TSQ Quantiva
- Bruker MALDI-TOF Autoflex
Bioinformatics: The platform staff also support researchers with proteomics-associated bioinformatics, including applying our extensive R and Python experience to assist in proteomics projects and data analysis. The platform has access to all the major proteomics search engines, and they have an Institute license to allow access to Qiagen IPA for in-lab analysis.
Databases:
UK DRI Experiment Registry (UK DRI members only)
CURTAIN data visualisation system
Future: The team are looking to implement single cell proteomics and mass spectrometry imaging at the lab and will offer those to researchers at the Institute.
